U.S. Marshals Arrest Fugitive Known as 'War Machine'

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – Jonathan Koppenhaver, also known as War Machine, a fugitive wanted by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, was arrested today by the U.S. Marshals in Simi Valley, California.

The U.S. Marshals developed information that Koppenhaver fled the Las Vegas valley and was in California. Koppenhaver was wanted for assault and other associated charges. He was booked into the Simi Valley City Jail pending his extradition to Nevada.

District of Nevada U.S. Marshal Christopher Hoye stated, “This is yet another example of how our joint agency efforts are apprehending fugitives who think they can hide.”

Nevada FIST is a permanent task force that brings together the resources and expertise of state, local, and federal agencies in a coordinated effort to arrest dangerous and violent fugitives. Nevada FIST is led by the U.S. Marshals and is comprised of Deputy U.S. Marshals and law enforcement officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the Nevada Department of Public Safety, the Nevada Department of Corrections, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
