Police Identify Sparks Shooting Victims

Sparks police are identifying the man who was killed in a shooting on York Way in Sparks early Friday, as well as another man who was shot several times.

Sparks police say 35-year-old Tommy Young was shot multiple times after at least one person forced their way into his home around 4 a.m. He later died of those injuries.

About 20 minutes later, police found 26-year-old Henry Toy, a Sacramento resident, near 8th and Sierra Street in Reno with multiple gunshot wounds to his lower body. It’s still unclear what role Toy played in the incident, but police say he was shot at the home on York Way.

The whole situation is still being investigated, and there are no suspects yet.


SPARKS, NV - Sparks police are investigating the murder of a man in the 700 block of York Way.

Police responded to the call at about 4 a.m. Friday. When they arrived at the home, the victim was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds.

Reno police say about 10 minutes later, another man was found with a gunshot wound to his leg near Sierra and 8th Streets. An investigation is now underway to find out if those shootings are related.

Police continue to speak with witnesses and develop leads. No arrests have been made.

Police have not released the names of the victims.

Secret Witness is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest in this case at 322-4900.
