RENO, NV - Troopers from the Nevada Highway Patrol have identified the victims killed in Friday night's two wrong-way crashes on I-80.
The first crash happened around 9:24 pm on I-80, about 5 miles west of Lovelock. The driver of a green 1996 GMC Jimmy SUV, 45-year-old Scott Francis, a Lovelock resident, was traveling west in the eastbound lanes.
The SUV swiped a white 2006 GMC Sierra pickup pulling a flatbed trailer driven by 41-year-old Jardy Kyner of Montana and then hit another eastbound vehicle, a white 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pickup driven by 24-year-old Austin Williams of Sun Valley.
After hit the truck, the SUV came apart and caught fire, killing the driver of the green GMC Jimmy SUV, Francis.
The force of the collision caused the pickup to overturn and it too caught on fire. None of the other involved motorists were injured in this chain of events.
The crash closed both eastbound travel lanes of the freeway and traffic was re-routed around the scene by Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) personnel and deputies from the Pershing County Sheriff’s Office.
The second crash took place about an hour later at 10:24pm on Friday. It happened around mile marker 46 on I-80 near Fernley.
The details in that event began when the wrong-way driver of a gold 2002 Mercedes Benz E320, 59-year-old Vladimir Volovik of Reno, collided head-on with a silver 2001 Toyota Echo 4-door sedan traveling eastbound driven by 27-year-old Jessica L. Stolting of Fernley.
Stolting had a passenger riding in the right front seat with her, Donald N. Bobb, 27 of Schurz. The force of the head-on collision killed both drivers while Bobb sustained a lower extremity injury. He was taken to Renown Regional Medical Center where he was treated and has been released.
The crash closed both eastbound travel lanes for several hours and traffic was re-routed around the scene through Wadsworth.
The Nevada Highway Patrol-Northern Command Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating both crashes. Anyone with information concerning either crash is encouraged to contact Trooper Eric Gallagher at (775) 689-4661 regarding case # NHP-111013764 for the Lovelock crash or NHP-111013801 for the Fernley crash.
Jessica's friends and family have set up a memorial fund in her honor.
The donations will benefit her two children.
If you want to donate, just go to any Wells Fargo Branch.
It's registered under "For Benefit of: Jessica Stolting & Family."

Jessica, Still hard to belive you are gone. Amazing person....you will forever be missed and loved by those who knew you. Robert, my thoughts continue to be with you and your family.
My estranged wife was in the Toyota echo. She was driving eastbound in the east bound lane. The other driver Vladmir was going the wrong direction. I had both NHP and Lyon County sherrif tell me this unoffically, as I'm still waiting three monthes later for toxicology results to close the investigation. Also, the wreck happened in the eastbound lane as Jessica was driving home. There was no way she could have been in the westbound lane to cause this accident. So quit trying to demonize a great person.
Tisha, Sorry for your loss, but my son was the passenger in the Toyota and they were heading east in the east bound lane when they were hit head on.
