Robbers Destroy Bottles of Liquor, Cut Clerk with Broken Bottle Before Escape

SPARKS, Nev. -- Two men got away after making off with several bottles of stolen alcohol from a Sparks liquor store. One of them is accused of throwing a broken bottle at the store's clerk as they ran.

Sparks Police Department officials say it happened around 3:30 Friday afternoon at the Around the Corner liquor store on McCarran near Prater Way.

The pair grabbed several bottles, and walked out without paying for them, but when the store clerk tried to stop them, they dropped bottle after bottle, breaking them on the ground.

That is when one of the thieves grabbed a jagged bottle remnant and threw it at the clerk, leaving a three inch gash.

Both suspects are described as Hispanic men in their 20s. They are both around six feet tall with medium builds. One was clean shaven while the other had a goatee.

They got into a silver car that was a Honda Civic or similar car and took off.
