RENO, NV - The Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County will reopen the multi-use path along the Truckee River in Sparks, as well as a multi-use path near the Sparks Marina.
On Monday, June 30th, 2014, crews will reopen the Truckee River Trail through Sparks from Cottonwood Park to Larkin Circle. This section of the trail was closed in March 2013 to accommodate construction of the Veterans Memorial Bridge over the Truckee River and the Sparks Boulevard/Greg Street improvements included within phase one of RTC’s SouthEast Connector project.
The multi-use path along the west side of Sparks Boulevard from I-80 to Greg Street, which enables pedestrians and bicyclists to connect to the Outlets at Legends and Sparks Marina is also set to reopen.
The re-opening of the paths is the result of the first phase of the SouthEast Connector project.
The 5.5 mile SouthEast Connect project will be built in two phases, with the new roadway anticipated to be completed in late 2016 or early 2017.
