Traffic is moving again on Interstate 80 eastbound right at downtown Reno, after a car launched itself onto the freeway around 5:30 Monday night.
A witness tells KOLO 8 News Now that the driver of a white sedan was speeding northbound on Arlington throughout downtown Reno. This witness says the driver blew through at least two red lights, swerving to avoid cars and cross traffic. The car then sped through the St. Mary's Regional Medical Center campus and launched through the fence onto I-80 below.
This witness did see the driver of the car conscious and moving when pulled from the vehicle and put into an ambulance.
Reno Police say the driver suffered some sort of medical seizure, which may have contributed to the car blowing through a dead-end.
