Tourist Tip Leads to Attempted Grand Theft Auto Arrest

RENO, NV - An observation made by a tourist has led to the arrest of a man accused of attempting to steal a car.

Saturday morning, the tourist noticed two suspicious suspects allegedly attempting to steal a Honda sedan at 568 Brinkby in Reno.

The tourist called police, and Antonio Avina was arrested. The other suspect ran from police.

Avina has been charged with attempted grand theft auto, conspiracy to commit grand theft auto, possession of burglary tools, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police are still looking for the other suspect. He's described as a Hispanic male, 5'10 with shaggy, ear-length hair. He was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt, grey baggy shorts and white shoes.
