CARSON CITY, NV - Three people were flown to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno after a head-on crash on US Highway 50 just east of Flint Drive late Thursday morning.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, a Mitsubishi Mirage was being driven west on the four-lane highway when the driver traveled across the center turn lane and into one of the opposing travel lanes.
The front of his car hit a Kia Soul head-on.
There was a male driver and a female passenger in the Kia.
The two in the Kia received serious injuries, while the driver of the Mitsubishi sustained critical injuries.
Three helicopters transported the victims to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno.
The accident caused the temporary closure of all four lanes of the highway.
