Three Arrested in Retail Store Burglaries

RENO, Nev. – Three people accused of shoplifting from Target stores in Reno, Sparks, and Carson City are now behind bars.

Christine Alpert, Timothy Bohannan, and Matthew Handschuh are suspected in a crime that took place on January 9th. Police say the trio was targeting the electronics departments, snagging eleven iPads from a locked cabinet before walking out of the store. Detectives from Sparks and Carson City worked together to identify and arrest them.

Handschuh and Bohannon were arrested on Thursday, January 16th. At about 7pm Friday 17th, detectives located Alpert in Sparks. She was taken into custody. At the time of her arrest, police say she had several items taken from a Marshall’s store in Reno earlier in the day.

Sparks Police officers are still investigating possible links to other crimes and would like to speak with anyone who may have additional information.
