SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CA - Police in South Lake Tahoe are on the lookout for a missing man who may be in their area, but whose disappearance stretches to the Golden Gate Bridge.
Police say Jackson Miller, now 24 years old, walked away from home in Cupertino, California in Alameda County. He was reported missing by his family in 2010. Soon after, his car was found in the parking lot of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco containing Miller’s wallet and cell phone.
The Golden Gate Bridge Authority confirmed no one jumped from the bridge the night Miller’s car was parked there. Video surveillance cameras revealed Miller leaving his vehicle and walking out of the parking area.
Despite the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office having received a number of unconfirmed sightings of Miller in the California Bay Area, he has not been seen by his family since he disappeared in 2010. At the time of his disappearance, Miller was reported to have been anxious and depressed due to medication withdrawal. Given the extended time frame he has now been missing, Jackson Miller’s family is growing increasingly concerned.
This week, a Tahoe resident called the South Lake Tahoe Police Department to report having seen a missing person poster displaying Jackson Miller’s picture. The caller reported having seen Jackson Miller in South Lake Tahoe on a number of occasions; as recently as about mid-July of 2014. Although the caller seemed confident, the report remains unconfirmed.
No crime is suspected at this time. Nevertheless, the South Lake Tahoe Police Department would like the public’s assistance in locating Jackson Miller to confirm whether he is in the area, and to confirm whether he may need help.
Jackson Miller is described as 5’-10” tall and 160 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes. He may have facial hair. Miller is not known to have any financial resources, and his circle of friends is unknown to his family. Additional photos of Jackson Miller are posted at www.findjacksonmiller.com (link at right).
