Sun Valley Man Convicted of Sexually Assaulting Children

RENO, NV - A Sun Valley man has been convicted of sexually assaulting children.

After a seven-day trial in Second Judicial District Court, a Washoe County jury found Thomas Wray Herndon guilty of eight counts of sexual assault on a child under the age of 14 and two counts of lewdness with a child under the age of 14.

The case involved three victims who reported the abuse in July 2013. One victim reported the abuse started as early as 2000. The case was investigated by the Washoe County Sheriff's Office Crimes Against Persons Unit. Herndon confessed to several of the crimes.

Judge Jerome Polaha presided over the trial and will sentence Herndon Thursday, May 7, 2015. All ten counts carry life sentences.
