RENO, NV – The 10th annual Reno River Festival is nearly upon us and there will be some street closures and bike lane restrictions. The festival brings in huge crowds every year to the Wingfield Park. According to a press release, this year the festival will be from May 10-11 and will be filled with paddling, food and free entertainment in the heart of downtown Reno.

As in past years, attendees are encouraged to park in downtown parking garages, on streets surrounding Wingfield Park or avoid parking issues altogether by riding bicycles, walking or utilizing public transportation.

Starting next Wednesday the north and southbound Arlington Avenue between First Street and Island Drive will be reduced. This will end May 10th.

On Friday May 10th, Arlington Avenue from First to Court Streets will be closed to both vehicle and bike traffic. Bikes can be walked through the Festival area.

The best way to get to Wingfield Park would be to use Sierra Street and Keystone Avenue via California Avenue and Second Street
.
And for the safety of the general public, all bags will be searched by security personnel upon entry to the park. Absolutely no weapons, alcohol or contraband of any kind is allowed in the park. All patrons are encouraged to report suspicious behavior of any kind to police or security personnel – If You See Something, Say Something.

Per City of Reno ordinance No. 1207, pets of any kind are not allowed in Wingfield Park during the event with the exception of guide dogs or other medically necessary animals with proper documentation.
