Jeremy Morales the man who escaped from the Storey County Jail after tricking a deputy has been located just a few miles away from where he was last seen.

Morales was the subject of an intensive manhunt immediately after his escape, and at one point the sheriffs office believed he had made his way into Gold Canyon.

That search was later scaled down after it was determined he had left Storey County.

Storey County Sheriff Gerald Antinoro says his office received a tip from someone riding a quad in the area of American Flat.

The sheriff says he and a couple of deputies searched the area above Mound House and locaed Morales in some bushes.

Antinoro says Morales had the same jail uniform on as when he escaped.

Morales' shoes were duct taped says Antinoro who says he doesn't know where he got the tape.

The sheriff says Morales was examed at the jail by emergency personnel who determined he was dehydrated.

Morales was taken to Northern Nevada Correctional Center in Carson City for medical treatment Monday night.

Antinoro says it appears as if Morales stayed in the area and scrounged food and shelter as he could.

Lyon County Sheriffs office assisted in the search Monday afternoon in a warehouse area just over the county line.
