RENO, NV - The suspect allegedly driving a stolen vehicle resulting in a two-car accident Monday morning has been identified.

42-year-old Jerry Ruch is in custody and charged with Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle.

The black Ford Mustang was stolen in Sparks; the driver then ran a stop sign before causing the crash in Reno.

A Washoe County Sheriff's Office deputy tried to make a traffic stop but Ruch allegedly fled the scene, heading south on Vine, running a stop sign and colliding with a Jeep Cherokee.

Reno Fire and REMSA personnel responded and had to extricate two men from the stolen vehicle.

Both male occupants of the Ford and the male driver of the Jeep were transported to a local hospital. The driver of the Jeep is listed in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries, but the passenger from the stolen vehicle is in critical condition.

Ruch is at the Washoe County Jail being held on $20,000 bail.
