Special “Aladdin” Benefit Show Raises More than 26k for The Salvation Army

RENO, Nev. – During the most magical time of the year, “Aladdin” has been recreated on the Eldorado Showroom stage into a magical holiday musical adventure. And in the spirit of giving, the Eldorado donated 500 tickets for the December 2 matinee show to The Salvation Army in Reno, which raised $26,168 for the local non-profit.

“We greatly appreciate the generosity of the Eldorado for providing the matinee show as a fund raiser for programs provided by The Salvation Army,” said Major Michael Zielinski, Corps Officer for The Salvation Army in Reno. “Without the support and generosity of businesses like the Eldorado, our mission could not be accomplished.”

This is the second year that the Eldorado has donated a holiday matinee to The Salvation Army, which uses donations to fund programs and services for children, seniors, struggling families, those in need of alcohol and drug rehabilitation, the homeless, the hungry and disaster victims. Since 1865, The Salvation Army has been helping people the world over without discrimination. The organization has been meeting primary needs in Northern Nevada for over 100 years.

In addition to selling tickets to raise funds, The Salvation Army was also able to send 175 kids and their families to enjoy the show.
“Aladdin,” with Live Action 3D Megavision, plays in the Eldorado Showroom through January 13, 2012. Showtimes vary Tuesday through Friday with either a single 7 p.m. performance or two performances at 5:30 and 8 p.m. Showtimes on Saturday and Sunday are at 3 and 7 p.m.
