SPARKS, NV - Sparks police have arrested a man on kidnapping and assault charges after waiting him out at his home for several hours.

Police say late Tuesday night, Terry Jones lured a woman to his home on El Capitan Court, near Greenbrae. They say he then hit her in the head and face, knocked her to the ground, choked her and tried to take her clothes off. She fought him off and ran away, going to a hospital, which called police.

Police say she suffered from a concussion, loose teeth, extreme head pain, lower back pain, cuts/abrasions and bruising about her face and neck.

They say Jones and the victim dated for a short time, ending last summer. The victim says he stalked her in person and over the phone on a regular basis until this week, when he talked her into going to his home.

Wednesday afternoon, Sparks police began a surveillance of Jones' home and arrested him about three hours later as he tried to drive off. He is booked for Stalking, Aggravated Stalking, Attempted Sexual Assault, False Imprisonment and Domestic Battery by Strangulation. His bail is set at $50,000 cash.
