Domestic Violence Suspect Jumps into Truckee River to Elude Police

SPARKS, NV - The man wanted for several domestic abuse charges led police on a chase Friday morning that ended with him jumping into the Truckee river.

Jeffrey Clack was discovered in the Boomtown parking lot Friday morning but when he saw police approach he jumped into a car and took off.

Police chased Clack to the area of Ambrose Park in Reno where he abandoned his car and jumped into the river to get away. He attempted to hide from officers in heavy brush along the river bank but was located a short time later and taken into custody, cold and wet.

Police were searching for Clack on outstanding warrants stemming from crimes investigated by other local police agencies. He was booked for outstanding warrants and for the crimes of Disobeying a Peace Officer Endangering Persons and Possession of a Hypodermic Needle.

Clack is being held in the Washoe County Jail without bail.
