Sparks Police Investigate Early-Morning Kidnapping

SPARKS, NV - Sparks police are looking for a man who is reported to have kidnapped a woman who was able to escape.

About 3:45AM July 17, 2014, officers were dispatched to 2808 Vista, the Safeway Gas Station, on a report of a female with a head injury. She told officers she had been kidnapped and taken northbound on Vista from I-80. She escaped in the area of the 1400 block of Satellite Drive by jumping out of the moving vehicle.

She describes the kidnapper as a black man named Damon who goes by the nickname “DG.” Damon is described as being 5' 8" and about 160 pounds. There was another black man with him. Police say Damon is known to frequent local casinos.

Damon was driving a rental car described as a red Chevy Impala with California license plates.

Police say the victim is not cooperating with their investigation other than the initial account of what happened.
