Sparks Police Arrest Two For Robbing 12-Year-Old

SPARKS, NV - Sparks police have arrested two people for robbing a 12-year-old Thursday night.

Police were called to Sparks Middle School at 8:17pm for a reported robbery. According to SPD, when officers got on scene they found a boy who told them he was riding his bike behind the school when he was confronted by several subjects.

The victim says he tried to run, but was punched in the back of the head by one of the suspects and knocked to the ground. The suspects then took the victim's cell phone, necklace and bike, and fled the area.

Officers then searched the area and found several witnesses and got descriptions of the suspects. A 17-year-old was taken into custody after officers found some of the victim’s stolen items in a nearby apartment complex.

Police also arrested Julian Padilla. During the investigation tt was determined that both suspects in this case are documented gang members. Both were charged with Robbery with Gang Enhancement. The 17-year-old was also charged with a probation violation and was booked into Jan Evans Juvenile Detention Juvenile Detention Center.
