SPARKS, Nev. -- Sparks police officers are investigating a gang-related shooting near an elementary school.
It happened just before 6:30 Friday evening in the 1100 block of La Via Way near San Miguel Way. That's directly behind Katherine Dunn Elementary School.
The Sparks Police spokesman told KOLO 8 News Now they have reason to believe it was a gang shooting. No one was hurt but one car was damaged.
The Regional Gang Unit helped with the investigation. Officers soon identified everyone involved. They arrested one male juvenile whose name is withheld because he is a minor.
