RENO, Nev. -- The City of Sparks is ready to help residents who could be flood victims over the next 48 hours. The City is working with a number of agencies, including the Washoe County School District, Washoe County Social Services, Regional Animal Services, and the American Red Cross to provide shelter should people be forced from their homes.
City officials wanted to allow residents and their pets to stay together should evacuations be necessary. Therefore, the shelter for both citizens and animals will be at Sparks High School. The high school will function as an evacuation center starting at noon on Sunday, December 2nd.
