SPANISH SPRINGS, NV - The Washoe County Sheriff's Office is looking for a woman missing for as much as two weeks.

A search for evidence got underway Tuesday afternoon in an area off Pyramid Highway, near her home.

Deputies had responded to a report of a missing woman March 2, 2014. She lives in the 12000 block of Ocean View Drive.

Deputies say 56-year-old Colleen Muhl was last known to be at her Ocean View residence on February 17.

Muhl’s family and friends are concerned because she has failed to return their calls, and they don't know anything about her whereabouts since February 17. Based on the circumstances, detectives say they suspect foul play and are following several leads.

WCSO says Muhl's husband, 51-year-old Gerald Muhl, had told detectives and family his wife had had a heart attack and died in California, but detectives were never able to confirm that information. Then, March 3, his body was found near the couple's home; detectives say he died of an apparent suicide.

The Sheriff’s Office is seeking any information from the public that may assist with this case. Anyone with information about the possible whereabouts of Colleen Muhl is urged to contact the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office at 775-785-WCSO (9276) or Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900.
