SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CA - South Lake Tahoe police are on the lookout for a woman they say left home on her own, but as she is mentally disabled, they believe she is at risk.

The family of 28-year-old Ruth Anne Scudder reports Scudder left their shared South Lake Tahoe home Wednesday June 4th, and the family hasn't seen her since. Police say she does not drive, and although she has a history of voluntarily leaving home unannounced, she has always returned within a few days. Because of the extended time frame she has now been missing, her family and police are growing increasingly concerned.

Ruth Scudder is 5’-04” tall and weighs 135 pounds. She has blond hair and green eyes. Her family says she has no financial resources with her, and her circle of friends is unknown to her family. No crime is suspected at this time, but the police are requesting help from our community in locating her. Please call SLTPD dispatch at 530-542-6100 with any past or current sightings of her.
