Missing South Lake Tahoe Man Found Safe

UPDATE 11AM 4/24: South Lake Tahoe police report Timothy Duran has been found safe and returned home.


SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CA - South Lake Tahoe police are asking for your help locating an 'at-risk' man missing since Tuesday.

Timothy Duran is a 24-year-old South Lake Tahoe resident,who has been reported to the SLTPD as missing. Duran has no history of being a danger to anyone, but is prescribed medications for mental health purposes and can become very confused without them, according to police.

Duran’s mother is his caretaker, and says he has likely not been taking his medication for a few days. Duran has a history of occasionally wandering away for a few days at a time, but usually remains within the Tahoe area. In the past, Duran has been known to wander in the woods and along roadways. He will occasionally hitchhike or frequent local drinking establishments.

Timothy Duran was last seen on Tuesday, April 22nd around 6:30pm. His last known communication with anyone was Wednesday, April 23rd around 4:00pm. Duran is described as a white male, 5’-10” and 135lbs, with brown collar-length wavy hair and a short beard/mustache. Duran is listed as “at risk” because of his need for medication and his resulting confusion without it. The SLTPD is asking for the public to call 911 if they recognize Duran in the area.
