SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. -- A suspect wanted for robbing a South Lake Tahoe bank is now in custody.
The El Dorado Savings Bank was robbed on March 7th. South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD) officials worked with the FBI to identify a suspect.
Police say 29-year-old Paul Cortez of South Lake Tahoe was in Reno when detectives contacted him Thursday, March 21st. They say Cortez confessed to the crime and included specific details of how it happened and how much money was taken.
Based on that confession, SLTPD officials got a warrant and, because Cortez was in Reno at the time, Reno Police officers arrested him and booked him into the Washoe County Jail.
