RENO, Nev. (AP) - Smile, Reno!
It'll be a galactic photo-op when the Cassini spacecraft takes a photo of Saturn on Friday with Earth in the background.
The Reno Gazette-Journal reports Reno residents are invited to take part in the "Biggest Little Smile from Reno."
The photo will be taken 2:30 to 2:45 p.m. Pacific Time at the main Quad at the University of Nevada, Reno. Participants are asked to arrive by 2:20 p.m.
Cassini will take a 15-minute snapshot of Earth as North America is turned toward Saturn and illuminated by the sun.
But don't worry about your showing your good side. Neither the city nor people will be discernible.
At 898 million miles up, the camera is too far away. Even Earth will appear as a mere blue dot.
