See Carson City on C-SPAN This Weekend

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - Nevada's capital city will be featured this weekend in two broadcasts on the C-SPAN network.

C-SPAN video producers spent a week in Carson City last month, gathering footage and conducting interviews. It is part of series highlighting state capitals around the nation.

One segment will air at 8 a.m. Saturday on C-SPAN's Book TV. The other runs at 1 p.m. Sunday on American History TV.

Among other things, the Carson City programs will feature the Nevada State Railroad Museum, the state Capitol, the Stewart Indian School and the Carson City Mint.

There will also be segments on Mark Twain, Nevada's Comstock Lode and the role of women in Nevada's gambling industry.

Gov. Brian Sandoval talks about Nevada and plans for the 150th statehood anniversary next year.
