RENO, NV - One man is dead after a crash Monday night at North Virginia and Moraine Way.

Police say shortly before 10PM, a 36-year-old Reno man was crossing North Virginia Street east to west when a northbound Mitsubishi Eclipse driven by a 23-year-old Reno man hit the pedestrian, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Mitsubishi remained on the scene of the accident and is cooperating with the investigation.

The Reno Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team responded to the scene and took over the investigation. So far, alcohol and speed do not appear to be a factor in the crash.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and no names have been released.
