SPARKS, NV - A man they believe rammed his ex-girlfriend's vehicle with her in it early Friday is in custody

Police say shortly after 12:30AM August 22, 2014, they responded to a report of a woman being followed by her ex-boyfriend, 24-year-old Jordan Phelps. In the area of Pyramid and Victorian, as she tried driving away from him, police say Phelps rammed her with his 2002 Dodge truck, with NV license plate 209LRG and tried to run her off the road.

A Sparks PD officer watched this happen and approached Phelps, who drove off, leading police through the city. He and the truck were found near El Rancho and Wedekind, where police say he got out and ran off. Police lost track of him at that point.

Later in the morning, police saw Phelps in a cab near the Golden Valley exit from Highway 395 and stopped the cab, but Phelps got out of the cab before it came to a stop, running off again, possibly to his home in the North Valleys.

Friday afternoon, police say Phelps surrendered at the Washoe County Jail and was booked for Battery with a Deadly Weapon and Eluding a Police Officer. .Bail is $50,000.
