Roadrunner Motel Owner Arrested In Sacramento

SCHURZ, NV - A man who owns a motel that was raided in Schurz Friday, September 2, 2014 has been arrested in Sacramento after a warrant was issued.

An arrest warrant was issued for 52 year-old Raghvendra Singh after Mineral County Sheriff's Office seized nearly $500,000 worth of marijuana and growing materials after executing a search warrant at the Roadrunner Motel on Highway 95 north of Hawthorne.

Sheriff Stewart Handte confirmed with KOLO 8 News Now deputies searched a room at the motel and found 100 marijuana plants, and confiscated a number of additional materials and accessories.

Singh was taken from his property in El Dorado County Wednesday afternoon where additional marijuana plants were seized. Singh faces federal drug charges in Nevada, but has yet to be charged in California.

Handte says his deputies had to shoot a dog after it had broken free of its restraint and charged police.

According to KXTV, Mineral County property records show Singh purchased the Roadrunner Motel for $105,000 in October 2013.
