Five Arrested After SWAT Standoff in Fernley

FERNLEY - Five people are under arrest and a tense SWAT standoff over in Fernley. The Lyon County Sheriff's Office received a call from Walmart around 1:00 p.m. Thursday that a group of shoplifters had pulled a gun on a security officer.

Lyon County Deputies were able to track the suspect vehicle to a home on Wildwood Street. As soon as deputies arrived on scene, they arrested four people. The fifth suspect, Enrique Luna, however, refused to come out of the home.

LCSCO SWAT and the Negotiations Team were called in. After trying to speak with Luna for nearly two hours with no response, the SWAT Team entered the home and arrested him.

Luna was positively identified as the person who pointed the gun at the Walmart employee. He has been booked into the Lyon County Jail on several charges including assault with a deadly weapon, commercial burglary, and aiming a firearm at another person.

All four of the other subjects were arrested and booked into the Lyon County Jail on numerous charges for their involvement with the burglary and the assault with a deadly weapon.
