RENO, NV - A police standoff at the Riverboat Hotel in downtown Reno has come to an end, with a suspect being arrested.
Reno police say 71-year-old William Douglas Wynn was arrested five hours after the standoff began Wednesday afternoon. He had apparently barricaded himself inside one of the rooms there. When officers tried to serve an arrest warrant, he refused to come out.
Wynn was a fugitive wanted out of Tennessee for vehicular homicide. He had checked in under another name and different date of birth, but his identity was later confirmed.
When SWAT was called out, they discovered Wynn had a gun. After the lengthy standoff, Wynn came out of the room and was arrested.
