The South ruled the day in the opening round of the Nevada State Softball Playoffs on Thursday.

Southern teams swept the games in Division one, with one winner each in the other three divisions.

Both Reed and Spanish Springs lost their games, setting up an elimination game between the two on Friday.

Fallon won their opener in Division IA advancing to the winner's bracket. Yerington and Eureka both won their openers in Division III and IV respectively.
