RENO, Nev. -- A rollover accident tied up traffic in a busy Reno intersection Saturday.
It happened after 11am at Longley and McCarran. An SUV and a black pickup truck were involved. The SUV ended up on its roof in the intersection. The pickup came to rest on a nearby sidewalk.
Officials say the pickup was making a right-hand turn and slowed down for a pedestrian and the SUV clipped the left, rear of the pickup, slid toward the median and flipped onto its roof, coming to rest against the light pole.
Emergency crews had to cut the door of the SUV off to get the driver our. An ambulance then took the driver of the SUV to the hospital. The driver of the pickup was not injured.
For a time, part of the intersection was blocked off. Drivers headed southwest on McCarran were forced to turn south on Longley.
