UPDATE: The northbound lanes of 395 at the Red Rock exit are open again after a roll-over accident earlier Saturday shut them down. The woman who was driving is still in the hospital; no one else was in the car and no other vehicles were hit. Investigators are testing to see if alcohol may have been a factor. The southbound lanes, while severely backed up, were never officially shut down; northbound lanes were blocked for more than two hours.
RENO, Nev. -- A roll-over accident shut down traffic on highway 395 near the Red Rock exit.
A Nevada Highway Patrol spokeswoman tells KOLO 8 News Now that a vehicle was traveling southbound when the accident happened, but the car came to rest on its roof in the northbound lanes.
The driver had to be forcibly extricated from the vehicle and flown by CareFlight to a hospital in Reno.
Traffic in both directions is affected. We have a KOLO 8 News Now crew on scene and will bring you updates as they become available.
