SPARKS, NV - Sparks police have arrested two people accused in an armed robbery and high-speed chase.

Tuesday about 3PM, A Washoe County detective in an unmarked car noticed an upset woman outside a business on Pyramid Way. She told him she had been robbed at gunpoint by two men in a Toyota Camry. Once he determined she was okay, he followed the Toyota and was joined in a pursuit by Sparks police. They chased the car to Larkin Circle, where the men jumped from the car in front of the Peterbilt building.

One of them, Albenjo Sioson, was arrested quickly. Police say the other, later identified as Richard Ornelas, carjacked a white truck and led police on a chase north on Vista Boulevard, finally crashing into a tree at Pah Rah Park. He ran and was tackled and arrested by Sparks police.

Police found the pistol used in the robbery, plus the stolen items. The victim is not hurt.
