RENO, NV - The Nevada Highway Patrol says one man is charged in connection with shots being fired on Interstate 580 Wednesday.
Winston Sam, 37, was booked into the Washoe County Jail for discharging a gun in a prohibited area.
Parole and Probation witnessed the shots being fired from the driver's side of the car around 8PM Wednesday on 580 just south of the Mill Street exit. Parole and Probation followed the vehicle to the Food Mart on Kietzke and Mill.
A section of Kietzke was closed as officers surrounded the Food Mart, and troopers say that's when Sam called 911 to say he had a weapon. Minutes later, he complied with demands to get out of the car. Police searched the vehicle and found two guns.
Sam and two other people were originally questioned, but only Sam was arrested.
