Nevada Football Coach Chris Ault Resigning

RENO, Nev. -- Nevada football coach Chris Ault announced he is stepping down Friday, through tears.

Ault called his time at Nevada "an incredible journey."

KOLO 8 News Now's Benjamin Ross is at the news conference. Ault says there were several factors involved in this decision, including recent losses of assistant coaches.

Ault says he believes financial aspects are getting better. He's leaving now because it's "just the right time." He told the media and supportes this was his decision and there was no pressure from the outside.

Ault added, he currently has no plans to return to coaching at Nevada or other school, but won't rule anything out down the line
