McQueen high school graduate Kyle Van Noy was selected by the Detroit Lions in the second round of the NFL Draft.
Van Noy was taken with the eighth pick in the second round; number 40 overall.
The 6-foot-3, 243-pound Van Noy was an All-American at BYU, finishing his career with 226 tackles and 26 sacks. He also had 61.5 tackles for loss, 11 forced fumbles, seven interceptions and five defensive touchdowns.
The Lions traded up five spots with the Seahawks in order to get Van Noy, who is expected to play outside linebacker in the NFL.
