RENO, NV - A Reno woman is charged with DUI and hit-and-run after a crash that hurt two people Monday afternoon.
Reno police say 23-year-old Elizabeth Shaw was driving a pickup that ran a red light at South McCarran and Airway, and hit a sedan.
Police say Shaw left the wreck without checking to make sure everyone was okay. The driver and passenger in the car are being treated for neck and back injuries, and at least one broken wrist.
The damaged pickup was found a little while later in the 1001 area of South Meadows, where Shaw was discovered sitting in her truck smoking a cigarette. Police say she showed obvious signs of alcohol impairment.
She was treated and released from Renown and booked in the Washoe County Jail for DUI Causing Substantial Bodily Harm, Felony Hit and Run and a Red Light violation with a total bail of $32, 275.
The injuries to the victims is not life-threatening.
