RENO, NV - The Reno Rodeo parade will wind its way through the streets of downtown Reno Saturday morning, June 22, beginning at 10.
Leading up to the parade, horse-mounted entries will be escorted from the Reno Livestock Events Center at Sadlier Way down to Valley road to 6th Street to Lake Street to Pine Street, to enter onto Virginia Street and the Washoe County Courthouse parking lot for staging starting at 7:30 AM.
The Reno Host Lions Club will offer a Pancake Breakfast at 7 AM on Virginia Street. Fee for pancakes is $7.
The parade will travel north on Virginia Street beginning in the area of Liberty Street, turning east onto Commercial Avenue and back north onto Center Street, ending at 5th and Center Streets. Virginia Street will be closed to vehicular traffic during the procession beginning at 7:00 AM until the end of the parade (between 11:30 AM and Noon). Center Street will be closed to vehicular traffic at Commercial Row and 5th Street beginning at 9:30 AM until the end of the parade (between 11:30 AM and Noon).
Traffic will be delayed on Lake Street between 6th and Pine Streets, but the Reno Police Department will be present to handle traffic issues. The parade route will be barricaded starting at 7:00 AM. This will mean that foot traffic will be at a maximum, but vehicular movement will be limited during that time.
This year there are more than 160 entries, including local non-profit organizations and 16 Performance Equestrian Drill Teams from throughout the Western United States participating in the parade. Each local non-profit organization is a recipient of Reno Rodeo Foundation funds and will have a float entry in the parade.
