Reno Police Use i-Phone App to Track Robbery Suspects

RENO, NV - Reno police have arrested three people in connection with an armed robbery Thursday morning.

Lt. William Rulla tells KOLO 8 News Now a man was robbed at gunpoint while he was walking in the area of South Virginia and Gentry shortly after 3:30AM. Among the items taken from him was his i-Phone, which he has loaded with an app called "Find My i-Phone," which police used to track a suspect vehicle to the Horseshoe Motel on Lake Street downtown.

Because it was an armed robbery, police took in a SWAT team as a precaution, but once they targeted a specific room at the motel, several people came out. After questioning, three of them were arrested for robbery with a deadly weapon. They are 26-year-old Anthony Jacinto, 24-year-old Sage Strickland and 29-year-old Ryan Simms.

The victim was not hurt.
