Reno Police Investigating Series of Commercial Burglaries

RENO, Nev. -- The Reno Police Department is investigating a series of commercial burglaries this month and it appears the suspects are targeting smaller stores and restaurants.

Since early this month, Reno Police tell KOLO 8 News Now more than 17 commercial burglaries have occurred.

Police say the suspects primarily focus in the south area of town, but are now moving toward downtown businesses. Two additional cases have been reported in northwest Reno.

The break-ins have reportedly happened between midnight and 4am. Smaller restaurants and businesses appear to be the main target, especially is the store has cash registers clearly in the open.

In most of the incidents, police say the suspects break out a window and enter the business even if there is an alarm system.

The suspects are captured on video, but are seen wearing hooded clothing, gloves and face masks.

If you have any information, contact Reno Police or Secret Witness at 322-4900.

The Reno Police Department is concerned these suspects will continue to hit these local businesses, and we are asking the public's assistance in identifying the two suspects. This type of crime can harm our local businesses, and can cause financial hardship to our local community.
