Reno Police Arrest Man Involved in Commercial Burglaries

Reno Police arrested the man they say was involved in a recent string of burglaries happening in the Reno area since the beginning of March.

RENO, NV - Reno Police arrested the man they say was involved in a recent string of burglaries happening in the Reno area since the beginning of March.

Reno Police say they observed a man, Carlos Mata-Rodriguez, climb atop a Chinese restaurant on the 2300 block of S. Virginia St.

They say they watched him attempt to enter the business from a vent on the roof.

After coming off the roof, he was apprehended by officers.

Reno Police say Mata-Rodriguez admitted to committing the recent string of commercial burglaries that have been happening in the Reno area since the beginning of March.

Mata-Rodriguez was arrested on 19 counts of burglary, attempted burglary, and possession of burglary tools, according to Reno Police.

The investigation is ongoing.

The Reno Police Department encourages local businesses to secure money or valuable items in a secure safe.
