Reno police have arrested a man they believe fired a shot near a crowd of people overnight.

RENO, NV - Reno police have arrested a man they believe fired a shot near a crowd of people overnight. According to police, the incident happened at 1:13AM Friday on the 1600 block of North Virginia Street, near the Little Waldorf Saloon.

Police say Zachary Tyler Smith was intoxicated when he allegedly fired a round from a handgun out of a parked car. The bullet hit a “No Parking” sign. Police say the 23-year-old man then went to the Little Waldorf Saloon and got into a fight. When officers arrived, Smith had just been kicked out of the bar and he was taken into custody.

Smith is being charged with discharging a gun from a vehicle; other charges could be pending.

No injuries were reported.
