RENO, Nev. (AP) - A Reno man with a history of felony convictions has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison after leaving a loaded gun along with his library card in a leather bag at a Reno casino.

Forty-eight year old James Clifton Jackson was convicted in February of being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was sentenced Monday by U.S. District Judge Robert Jones.

Prosecutors say Jackson was playing slot machines at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino on Oct. 30, 2011. When he walked away from the machine, he left behind a leather bag. A slot attendant discovered the bag and found a loaded gun inside, along with Jackson's library card.

Authorities say Jackson has eight prior felony convictions.
