Reno Homicide Suspect Connected To 2010 San Francisco Homicide

Reno, NV - San Francisco Homicide Inspectors identified Daniel Hill, 36, of Reno, Nevada as a suspect in the murder of Michael Ponder. The murder occurred in the early morning hours of August 28, 2010, in Golden Gate Park near Kezar Stadium. In 2010, Ponder was found by an officer assigned to Park Station, who was patrolling in the area. Mr. Ponder, who was 53 years old, had suffered multiple stab wounds.

Daniel Hill was recently arrested for an unrelated homicide in Reno, Nevada. Detectives in Reno developed information that linked Hill to the murder of Mr. Ponder.

Inspectors from San Francisco traveled to Reno to follow up on the investigation and obtained an arrest warrant through the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office for Hill. Hill is currently being held in Reno Nevada on local murder charges.
