Reno Bighorns Defeated by Warriors

RENO, Nev. - The Reno Bighorns were defeated by the Santa Cruz Warriors, in their final regular season game, 109-95.

Reno came out with the quick lead in the first quarter, leading by as much as 17 points. The Warriors rallied later in the quarter going on a 12-0 run (3:44-1:38) to get them within 8. Reno ended out the quarter on top, 31-23. The Bighorns’ Mo Charlo and Warriors’ Mychel Thompson each ended the quarter with 10 points.

The Warriors closed the gap in the second quarter, coming within 3, but ended the quarter still behind, 55-51. To close out the half, Mo Charlo and Ra’shad James each had 12 points.

Santa Cruz stole the lead from the Bighorns in the third quarter and led by 7 points midway through the quarter. Mickell Gladness scored 8 points in the third for the Bighorns. Mychel Thompson contributed 9 points and 3 rebounds in the third for the Sea Dubs.

The Warriors pulled away from the Bighorns in the fourth quarter. James finished the game with 21 points for Reno. Willie Reed recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. The Warriors were led by Thompson’s 22 points. Kiwi Gardner added 17.
