Reno Air National Guard Has New Commanding Officer

RENO, NV - There is a new leader at the Air National Guard in Reno.

The 152nd Airlift Wing held a ceremony Thursday afternoon as Col. Jeffrey W. Burkett relinquished command to Col. Karl B. Stark.

After serving as the 152nd Airlift Wing's commander for two years, Burkett will move on to a director-level position at the Nevada Guard's Joint Force Headquarters in Carson City.

Stark has been a member of the Nevada Air National Guard since 2001, and has served on active duty in multiple positions with assignments at base and headquarters-level.

He also served as the Deputy Executive Assistant to the Chief National Guard Bureau. In addition, Col. Stark has also commanded at group-level, serving as the 152nd Operations Group Commander, Reno, Nevada.

His most recent assignment was Air National Guard Advisor to the Commander, United States Transportation Command, Scott Air Force Base, Ill.
