RENO, Nev.—The Reno Aces have been honored by the Reno News & Review “Best Of” 2013 awards, in several different categories, the club announced today.
For the fifth-straight year, Reno claimed the title of Best Spectator Sport, topping Nevada football and basketball for the prime spot.
Aces games were also voted Best Weeknight Activity in the kids and family category.
In addition to the first place honors, the Aces ranked third in the following categories: Best July 4 Fireworks, Best Non-casino Thing to do Downtown and Best Thing to do on a Friday.
“On behalf of our owners and the entire organization, we want to say thank you to our fans and the readers of Reno News & Review for those honors,” said Aces Executive Vice President and COO Eric Edelstein. “It is our privilege to bring world-class, affordable, family-friendly entertainment to Northern Nevada.”
Readers submitted votes online and by mail for the “Best Of” awards from June 7 through July 19. The feature, in its 19th year, aims to recognize the top people, places and things in all of Northern Nevada.
The Aces begin an eight-game homestand tonight, with a game against the Memphis Redbirds. Tickets for all remaining Aces home games are on sale now at RenoAces.com, by calling 334-7000 or visiting the Aces Ballpark Ticket Office.
